It’s not easy trekking tables and chairs up a freight elevator and onto a 12-story rooftop, but it’s certainly worth the view. The forests of kale and collards and blooming flowers also make you feel like you’ve escaped the city for a bit, even though you can see the skyline from the table. Brooklyn Grange operates the world’s largest rooftop soil farms at three buildings across the city, providing some 80,000 pounds of organic vegetables each year to the New York community.
Local chefs like Grange’s Brooklyn neighbor and Top Chef alum Sylvia Barban share the bounty in creative dishes with ingredients sourced from the most unusual of farms. If the sun is out we will see a Stonehenge moment of sorts. For a short time in late summer, the setting sun throws light between the skyscrapers of Manhattan right down the middle of the table. Invariably this inspires everyone to get up from the table to check out the views before dessert arrives.

Purchase Policy
Due to the nature of the events, no refunds or credits will be given if the Participant is unable to attend. However, tickets can be transferred to someone else. Please contact us at reservations@outstandinginthefield.com with the new guest’s information at least 24 hours prior to the event, or tell the guests using your reservation to give your name at arrival. Transferring funds for your tickets is your responsibility. In the case of an event being postponed due to circumstances beyond Outstanding in the Field’s control, Outstanding in the Field will reschedule said event and all purchases will be honored for the rescheduled future event date.
