Boggy Creek Farm has been a touchstone for both Austin’s farming community and Outstanding in the Field. Our first visit, back in 2005 during OITF’s cross-country tour, came at a time when the future of the project felt uncertain. Carol Ann Sayle and Larry Butler offered encouragement that helped keep our storytelling mission alive—and now we return each year for a little boost. Carol, a pioneer of urban farming in the U.S., tends her charming farmhouse, one of Austin’s oldest surviving homes, surrounded by a green oasis that feels almost timeless even as the city grows into a world-class destination.

For this special evening, Guest Chef Casey Wall brings his modern French‑Texas cuisine to the farm. At Le Calamar, Wall’s cooking blends classic French technique with the bold flavors of Texas and Gulf seafood, drawing on seasonal produce and Gulf ingredients to create dishes that could only exist where terroir and imagination meet. Expect the unexpected—rich sauces, charcoal‑grilled cuts, Gulf‑driven seafood preparations, and unexpected combinations that feel refined yet deeply rooted in place.
