A seaside table is set among the swaying sugar cane on the gorgeous Kohala Coast. At Kuleana Farm, we sip, savor, and truly experience the taste of place. Our hosts at Kuleana Rum source sugar cane descended from the original canoe plants, brought from island to island to sustain ocean-going Polynesians.
On our previous visits to the Big Island, we set our table in vegetable fields in Waimea, alongside tea plantings on the Hāmākua Coast, on a Kohala ranch in a small volcanic caldera of bright green grass, beside living abalone in bubbling tanks, and surfside with the sound of crashing waves at a Kona Sea Salt Farm.
For this event, our guest chef is Rhoda Manbitang of CanoeHouse at the Mauna Lani. Rhoda has worked in the kitchens of world-renowned chefs including José Andrés and Josiah Citrin. Before coming to Hawaii, she was Executive Chef at Los Angeles’ iconic Chateau Marmont and Petit Ermitage. Joining Rhoda in the kitchen is her sous chef, Tylor Boring—a veteran of many past OITF events.

Purchase Policy
Due to the nature of the events, no refunds or credits will be given if the Participant is unable to attend. However, tickets can be transferred to someone else. Please contact us at reservations@outstandinginthefield.com with the new guest’s information at least 24 hours prior to the event, or tell the guests using your reservation to give your name at arrival. Transferring funds for your tickets is your responsibility. In the case of an event being postponed due to circumstances beyond Outstanding in the Field’s control, Outstanding in the Field will reschedule said event and all purchases will be honored for the rescheduled future event date.
