Our long table arrives at the Perkins House Museum. Originally the home of ferrymen and sea captains, the Perkins House Museum is a rambling, gabled structure situated on the York River by Sewall’s Bridge. In 1898, it became the summer home of Mary Perkins and her daughter, Elizabeth, who transformed the house into an environment evocative of colonial New England. The museum preserves the Perkins Family’s original interiors and possessions.

As the evening begins, we’ll wander the grounds and take in the views before gathering at the table, set beneath open skies and cooled by river breezes. Here, the rhythms of the coast shape the meal—lobster boats returning to the dock, tides shifting, and the late-summer light stretching long across the water.

The menu will celebrate the height of the Maine harvest: ingredients drawn from nearby farms, orchards, and the cold waters of the Gulf of Maine. Expect the bright, briny flavors of the coast alongside peak-season vegetables and herbs, all prepared over open flame in the Outstanding in the Field kitchen.
