The Manhattan skyline, The Statue of Liberty and the floating pageant that is the New York Harbor; this island, accessible only by ferry from downtown Manhattan, is one of the city’s best surprises. In addition to 172 acres of transformative public art, open parkland and educational programming, Governors Island is home to the Billion Oyster Project, an organization that engages local students and youth volunteers to restore New York Harbor’s lost oyster reefs. Their huge shell pile overlooks the Buttermilk Channel, offering us a delicious invitation to slurp some oysters (and add our own shells to the restoration project) before Chef Andrew Ayala from Michelin-starred Le Jardinier treats us to a meal almost too beautiful to eat. Andrew joined us in Miami this past winter to show off Florida’s peak produce, and we can’t wait to see what he pulls from peak season in the Northeast this summer.

Purchase Policy
Due to the nature of the events, no refunds or credits will be given if the Participant is unable to attend. However, tickets can be transferred to someone else. Please contact us at reservations@outstandinginthefield.com with the new guest’s information at least 24 hours prior to the event, or tell the guests using your reservation to give your name at arrival. Transferring funds for your tickets is your responsibility. In the case of an event being postponed due to circumstances beyond Outstanding in the Field’s control, Outstanding in the Field will reschedule said event and all purchases will be honored for the rescheduled future event date.
